1988 Windows becomes top selling program and Apple, Inc sues Microsoft for taking their ideas

Facts About The Invention:

• Microsoft sold so many copies of Windows that Bill Gates became one of the most wealthy people in the world. He made it so your computer can only work with Microsoft products and if you wanted to add any programs they had to be Microsoft products.

• Bill Gates surprised a lot of people with his inventions because he was so young. He started computer programming at thirteen! At 20, he dropped out of Harvard to start his own computer programming business. At 28, he invented Microsoft Windows.
• Ever since Apple sued Microsoft they have been fighting, but the competition makes them stronger because they always try to be better than the other company.
• This is what MS Dos looked like. Before Windows was invented, computer writing was green on a black screen. It looked like this. You had to know commands to tell the computer what to do.

There have been many versions of Windows. Microsoft is always trying to get better, and say ahead of Apple! Here are some of the different Windows products, symbols and sounds. Make sure your computer has the sound on!

1. It uses electricity.

2. Very addictive.

3. Windows makes your computer so that it can only use Microsoft products.

4. He may not have gotten his ideas honestly.

5. Apple products may be easier to use.
